The Walnut Tree in Bourne End welcomed us with fantastic food, drink and service and a great night was had by all.

AGM 2014

The AGM was well attended and thank you to our parents who were able to stand forward as committee members including Kieran Millard (Chairman), Miranda Pargeter and Pat Ayres (Child Protection), Rachel Wroe (Newsletter Editor) and Beverley Watson (Swim Shop).

OFFICIALS TRAINING COURSE Parent Opportunity

Oxford & North Bucks are running a Judge Level 1 course on 22nd June, this is the entry level of ASA officiating and is open to all.

Although no experience is required, a confident personality and love of competitive swimming will help. As a club we need to have a team of officials to support the running of not only internal but external events as well. After the introductory meeting the course is then at your own pace, working poolside with a qualified Judge to gain experience whenever your swimmer is competing.

If you'd like to attend this course or if you'd just like to find out more about officiating please contact WENDY HEALY on poolside or email us at info@bejsc-swimming.org.uk.

Swimathon Success for Bourne End

Congratulations to our fantastic swimmers who swam in the 2014 Swimathon and raised over 600 for Sport Relief.

The 3 teams, covered distances of 1.5 and 5K on 22nd March at Handy Cross. A fun filled afternoon with the 1.5K team clocking a "too fast" time and a friendly if slightly competitive swim by the two 5K teams.A variety of strokes were on display including one not often seen in a competitive club - doggy paddle! Connor McKillop's team pipped the other team to the post in 1 hour 16min with the final length providing a stunning demonstration of synchronised swimming by the 6 strong team!

Finally a big thank you to, Julie Beech, George Hannaford, Sarah Haveron-Jones & Rachel Wroe for supporting the swimmers poolside and to all the parents and grandparents who stayed to cheer them on!
