BEJSC Awards Evening

Swimming Section Awards for 2013/2014 Season

The Bourne End Sports Club Awards Evening is a great opportunity for us to see what is happening in the other sections of the Sports Club and where some of our swimmers are involved both in club and other section activities.

Within the swimming section this is our opportunity to award swimmers and parents who have contributed to the swimming section over the last year.

Select the tabs for the worthy winners this year and in previous years

Brudelin Trophy - Contribution to the Club - John Couves

John has been involved with BEJSC for many years starting when the first of his three daughters joined our club.

He stood as a life guard when we were in desperate need of volunteers and then moved from there to qualifying as an ASA teacher joining our poolside coaching team.

John has spent many hours both on Friday night coaching with our Court Garden team, helping to bring on our talented junior teachers, and with the main club ensuring that our swimmers start off on the right track with excellent technique and understanding of their sport.

Not stopping there, John joined Andy and Marleen to review our club structure and start the process of changing to align our squads to a more competition centric system. Lately John has worked tirelessly putting together our Swim21 information which we have now submitted to the ASA. Thank you John for all your endeavours for our swimming club and our swimmers over the last decade.

Williams Cup - Most Improved Swimmer - Luca Staines

Luca has had a great first competition year, starting off with breaking numerous club records at U10 level.

He followed this up with domination of the ONB Counties in his age group resulting in first place in the BAGCAT awards. Following on from this, Luca had a great first South east Regional Championships where his hard work and talent helped him produce high level performances.

Whilst Luca has competed well this is due to the great attitude he has to training, putting all his effort into the sessions and working hard to understand his sport. Good job Luca, keep it up.

Sutton Williams Cup - Senior Endeavour - Michael Hannaford

Michael is a great example of a swimmer who works hard in every training session and is a pleasure to work with.

Well done on a good year of training with our squad and a successful swimming year.

Rimmer Trophy - Junior Endeavour - Maddie Hill

The Rimmer Family put this award forward to recognise a swimmer from the junior squads who shows the right attitude and application to their swimming with our club. Maddie is a cheerful and hard working swimmer who is progressing well.

Good to be able to ward this on the night in front of both Mark Rimmer and Alison Rimmer, old friends of our club.
